Currently in schoolThis is the Portfolio Settings Personal Tagline. I design cool stuff.
I am an Associate Professor of Communication Design at Miami University, serving as a Research Fellow at Scripps Gerontology Center and Affiliate Faculty in Emerging Technology in Business and Design. My research bridges social science, creativity, and technology to design meaningful experiences through products, services, and systems. I focus on advance care planning for aging populations and investigating AI’s role in shaping future experiences. Before academia, I spent fifteen years as a creative director and designer in Dallas/Fort Worth working in graphic, interaction, and experience design, which informs my transdisciplinary approach to solving complex human challenges. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Design-Innovation Studies from the University of North Texas, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design Communication, and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Texas Tech University.
I enjoy playing disc golf, backgammon, and going to big concerts in small venues.
